Meet the Humans Behind the Treats 👋
Hello! I’m Katie, the human behind Norfolk Pet Essentials,
and alongside my husband Ben, we help dog owners find the perfect natural treats for their four-legged best friends.
But where did it all begin?
In one word… Ivy.
A close friend of mine had the most amazing Boxer named Max—calm, cuddly, well-mannered, and an all-round dream dog. Which led us to get our Boxer, Ivy.
Ivy, on the other hand, was what you might call a typical Boxer… full of energy, enthusiasm, and just a little bit bonkers! Absolutely loveable, but a whirlwind.
As much as we adored her, we quickly realised that managing Ivy’s boundless energy meant more than just exercise.
Training, routine, and plenty of mental stimulation were essential—and finding the right treats to support this wasn’t as easy as it should have been.
We found it difficult to keep up with, the best treats, the amount to feed, when to feed, until we started researching what we needed do. We found very useful information with a lack of availability in our area.
From Research to Reality
We found ourselves constantly asking questions:
Which treats are best?
How much should we feed?
When should we use them?
While there was plenty of helpful information out there, there was a real lack of quality, natural options available locally. So we did what any determined dog lovers would do—we researched, learned, and eventually decided to create our own solution.
And just like that, Norfolk Pet Essentials was born.
